What is Cars for Keeps?
Cars for Keeps—led by Founder Cory Shivley—is a remarkable ministry that places vehicles into the hands of individuals in need through a unique no-interest lease-to-own program.
But, the program is much more than just providing cars. It’s about wrapping financial education and accountability around the vehicle ownership experience. Participants engage in quarterly budget reviews, set and work toward financial goals, and gain a better understanding of financial management with the goal of moving toward financial stability and independence.
The Impact of Cars for Keeps
Having reliable transportation can significantly improve someone’s quality of life. It provides access to better-paying jobs, medical care, social connections, and community activities. It even allows children to participate in sports and other extracurricular activities, fostering a sense of freedom and community involvement.
Anyone who’s ever been stranded without a vehicle knows the feeling of having to put their life on hold—a predicament Cars for Keeps wants to help individuals in need overcome. Corey shares that their goal is “helping those individuals who feel stuck become unstuck and self-reliant and free.”
After fundraising and diligent work, Cars for Keep is currently planning on placing vehicles with four applicants this spring.
