We all know that pets are part of the family. This means you take them on lots of fun adventures, but it also means you accumulate a lot of pet hair in your car. A LOT. Pet hair can certainly be tricky to remove from your car upholstery, but it is not impossible! We’ve researched some affordable methods on how to remove pet hair from your car so your vehicle can be clean and fur-free!

How-to-remove-pet-hair-from-your-carMethod 1: Rubber Glove.

Start by vacuuming as much loose hair off the upholstery as you can. Once you’ve done that, simply spray your upholstery lightly with water (you can even mix half water with half fabric softener for an even more effective solution) then wipe your gloved hand over the upholstery. The pet hair should collect on your glove with ease. Whenever your glove fills with pet hair, dunk it in a bucket of water and shake it out to remove the fur. Once you’ve gotten as much hair off as you can with your glove, vacuum again.

Method 2: Duct Tape.

Lint rollers are expensive and aren’t very effective for cleaning car upholstery. A cheaper and more effective option to remove pet hair from your car is to wrap some duct tape around your hand (sticky side out) and then press the duct tape against the upholstery and lift up. This should help get the surface pet hair off.

Remember as a kid rubbing a balloon against your hair to get it to stick straight up? The same idea works for pet hair too! Blow up a balloon and swipe it against your car upholstery to collect pet fur. All the hair will be attracted to the static electricity from the balloon and your car will be clean!

Of course, the best pet hair removal method is prevention. Brush your animal before a long car drive with them, and consider putting a blanket or other cloth over your backseat to collect the pet hair. In the meantime, try out some of these methods! We’re sure that at least one of them will help and, soon enough, you will have a clean and fur-free car!
